The Architecture of Al Suave, by Pauline Maty

Al Suave House sits above El Zonte Beach on El Salvador’s coast, shaped by the climate, the landscape, and the way the space is meant to be lived in. Designed as a series of open pavilions, the house prioritizes airflow, natural light, and a constant connection to the ocean. Materials and textures reference the surrounding environment, while the layout favors shared moments over separation. The following photographs were captured by Pauline, a French photographer and storyteller based between France and El Salvador, whose work focuses on light, the ocean, and human presence. Her images document how the architecture responds to its setting, revealing the relationship between structure, nature, and everyday life within the house.
